El estudio de la Física proporciona conocimiento, competencia y destrezas que son muy valoradas en muchos entornos. Estos científicos son buenos resolviendo toda clase de problemas que requieran aplicar modelos matemáticos. Por ello, no es de extrañar que muchos trabajen en finanzas, compañías de software, y otras industrias muy diversas. 

Dicho esto, muchos titulados realizan un doctorado y se incorporan a la universidad o a otros centros investigadores. Otro porcentaje importante se dedica a la docencia no universitaria en las áreas de Física, Química, Matemáticas o Informática.
